When I first saw this headline — Classic ice cream parlour closes: The Register-Guard, Eugene, Ore. — my heart skipped. I was scared to death that Prince Puckler’s had shuttered, but luckily, it has not. However, another Eugene ice cream icon, the Pearl Street Ice Cream Parlour, on 13th & Pearl, has closed for good. According to the R-G article, the Beppe & Gianni’s folks are taking over the space and will convert it into a pizzeria.

I was being nostalgic this afternoon, thinking of the Glenwood & Pearl Street Ice Cream… except I couldn’t remember the name of the parlor. I Googled “ice cream parlor Eugene” and found your blog. Now I am heartbroken! We moved back to Michigan in 2001 and I always wanted to make it back to Pearl Street to try the Volcano ice cream treat (feeds min. 10 people) — we never got enough people together while we lived there and now it’s too late! How sad.
Jeanne,
I’m so sorry! If it helps though, next time you are here, Prince Puckler’s is still serving up great ice cream at 19th & Agate.
