Quickie weather URL – Lifehacker

I love MyWay for their email, but I’ve always been a bit annoyed at them moving their weather info provider to Weatherbug. I remember once using Weatherbug, then deciding I couldn’t be bothered. Anytime a piece of software tries to intimidate me into continuing to use it – I recall some schlock about how uninstalling could mean I’d miss out on life-saving weather information – it’s definitely getting chucked.

And now, Lifehacker has posted a better, bookmarkable tip, that provides information from a source that won’t use scarily worded j-script popups to try to keep you as a user:

  1. alternatively, couldn’t you just use the weather checked provided by dashboard? That’s what I use.

  2. You know, I actually don’t use the dashboard. And when I did have the weather widget on there, I wasn’t all that keen on it. Plus I’m also agnostic, so sometimes I’m on my Mac, sometimes I’m on my pc laptop, and then I have a pc at work, so it’s also for when I’m on windows.

  3. ahh, got it.
I do use my dashboard sometimes, and I like it fairly well. Since I use my address book on my mac, the dashboard is nice for searching for entries instead of having to open up address book.

  4. I used the dashboard for a while, but haven’t touched it in ages. I might check it out again, but for now I just haven’t used the widgets much. Plus, my contacts are all in my web email, and I’ve never migrated them over.
Besides, the Daily Tao widget stopped being updated, so it just wasn’t worth it anymore :-)

  5.
