No matter how obscure, he could see it. Just on the edge of his vision, or right in the middle of his sight, but a shimmer, a million miles compressed into a sword-thin sliver that only he could see. It felt like another world, that was the only way he could put it into words – he saw it, and it looked into him, and it said, "Come in." Another world, another set of nows and forevers and moments – he kept looking, kept feeling around the edges, looking for the door, looking for the solid beyond the shimmer.
