Organ parts for sale

ConsoleElectro-Pneumatic Organ Parts Available
I’m turning this post over to my friend Chris Buckley, a musician and apprentice organ builder. He has many organ parts that he is offering for sale. Those parts (including a console, 3 chests and a tremulent unit, or trem) and photos for them are below.

Other organ components available too. If you are looking for other electro-pneumatic organ parts but don’t see them here, please contact Chris.

Interested in any or all of these organ pieces? Contact Chris Buckley for pricing and arrangements: at email via buckleymusic03@yahoo.com or by phone at (503) 910-9930 (please call before 10PM PST).

Shown below are 3 chests, 1 tremulant unit and 1 console. Click photo for larger image (which will open in a new window; larger images may take a bit to load). Please note that any errors in the below are most likely the fault of Anthony, the chap who runs this site, and not of Chris Buckley. If there are errors, please leave a comment at the bottom of this page.

1. Vox Humana Chest SOLD!

2. Unique Chest Utilizing Bakelite-Capped Magnet

Chest2top
This is a chest which utilized a Bakelite-capped magnet, the likes of which Chris says he’s never encountered before. It is marked "Choir" in rubber-stamp on the sides. There are 70 pipe-holes bored in this chest.

Chest2bottom
Here’s a good view of the Bakelite magnets. The groupings of magnets are labeled for the ranks they controlled, i.e.: Vox Humana, Flute d’Amour, Quintatena, Clarinet, Dulciana, Diapason.

3. Chest Utilizing Reisner Standard-Type Magnets

Chest3topThis is a chest that, again, utilized the Reisner Standard-type magnets.

Chest3bottomIt is a 32-note facade chest. This is obvious by the care that someone took in routing a decorative groove in the front edge and the chromatic arrangement of the large pipe-holes. (It’s generally accepted that for the bottom octaves, a chromatic arrangement can lead to poor tonal results.)

4. Tremulant Unit (Trem)

Trem
This is one of two identical tremulant units that I have in my shop. Both are for sale.

5. Console

Console
A three-manual electro-pneumatic console, made for a Balcomb & Vaughn organ.  Four manuals, XX stops, expression pedals for all manual divisions plus crescendo.  There are eight toe studs, for six general combinations, a Gt-Ped coupler, and a Sforzando stud.  There is a full 32-note pedalboard (not pictured).

Each manual is supplied with six combination pistons, and a pair of converse-acting Ped-Man couplers.  (These can be seen just to the right of each set of combination pistons.)  A similar pair of converse-acting buttons can be seen on the left side of the Swell frontspiece, which is an "All Swells Off" control.  The six general combination tabs can be seen just above the Swell manual.

Current Stoplist for this Console is as follows:

    3. Johan – thanks for the comment! That’s a pretty ambitious project. I’ve forwarded your comment to my friend Buckley, he’s the one who had this stuff for sale originally, and he’s an absolute genius when it comes to music, wood-working and instrument repair and construction. Good luck!
