Grilled Broccoli Recipe

This past Sunday night, with perfect clear skies and warm temperatures outside, and Jodie and I done after a day of gardening and some indoor project planning, it was time to grill. In addition to some steaks, red onions and thin-sliced fingerling potatoes, we also grilled up a large broccoli head from our Good Food Easy produce CSA. The only mod to this recipe was we did not use Parmesan cheese. The broccoli grilled up nicely — be sure to get it just a hair charred in a spot or two. This is a keeper for summer grilling:

I totally made this tonight for a barbecue potluck I went to. I omitted the lemon juice and parm (mostly from lack of picking up lemon juice and because I think parm is an unnecessary addition). I threw the cut veggies (did broccoli and asparagus) back in the produce bag with some olive oil, cracked pepper, and sea salt. Grilled 'em on a charcoal grill.

Seriously, these were the hit of the party. I'd never even thought of grilling broccoli. This is totally my new summer barbecue dish! Thank you so much for posting it.

You know, I agree with you on the parm. I love parmesan, but the flavor without it was great. I could see maybe dabbing a bit on when the broccoli goes on plate, but totally optional.

The mix sounds good, especially with the asparagus in there. Hmmm, I think I'm going to have to do up some more broccoli tonight...
