Beer Lao in London?
A little while back I got a question about whether or not you can find Beer Lao in the London. She's trying to get hold of some Beer Lao for an event she's putting on. I've been doing a little digging to try to find out if there's Beer Lao distribution there, but so far no luck.
Do any of my Eight Readers know if you can get Beer Lao in London? If so, how? Where? Who's the distributor? Thanks.

I'd very much like to hear any progress on this.
The Beer Lao website has an article detailing the arrival of the first shipping container of Beer Lao for the English market.
With it was a photo of said container that had me salivating. I've emailed them, but as usual no reply. Nothing on the internet, and even the one Thai supermarket I know in London replied "mai mii".
I have a bunch of people here who are itching to drink the stuff!

Update - afraid there's been no luck on the UK/Beer Lao front. I made a few inquiries, but no go. If anyone else has better luck, please leave a comment here with the information. Thanks!

I too, am trying to hunt down a bottle of Lao's finest in the UK. Any movement since November 1st? My boyfriend would think I was a goddess if I could get some- we both agree its the finest beer in south east asia by miles. You say they export to France. Anywhere that does mailorder perchance?

None that I've found, I'm afraid. But...
From their site, another Laos site I found for them, you might want to try some of their contact info - maybe you can get pointed in the right direction or, if they hear from enough people, maybe you can help them see the wisdom of some UK distribution:
Lao Brewery Company Limited (beer-Lao)

"LAO BREWERY Co., LTD" - contact info

Yes, but as an Australia, you'll drink anything with alcohol in it :-)

Hi, I've noticed on Ebay the small cans of Beer Lao are being sold - so for the really desperate, that might suffice. It's qite expensive though and a bit of a hassel to bring it from Germany.
Somewhere, right now in the UK, there is a huge shipping container filled with thousands of bottles of the stuff. But where?! I have re-emailed beer Lao, hopefully they can shed some light.
It's been a 5-year dry period for me, with just two breaks. :-(

Sigh... maybe we all just need to make a trip to Laos...

So, I guess the question, for me at least, becomes how do you get this beer in the states?
With all the good things people are saying I can't not at least try it.

Tell me about it. I found it here in Eugene once (at the Market of Choice at 29th & Willamette), about a year ago. I've got a question out to Beer Lao's UK distributor to see if they have a lead for a distributor for the U.S.
And it is really good. If I can track some down, I'll keep one back for you :-)

Sorted!
Proud recipient of two cases of Beerlao....the stories are true, it is available.
Alex mentioned there are about 15 or so restaurants around London selling, most of them seem to be Vietnamese, but we don't really have much of a Lao population here, if at all. I didn't recognise the names, but then again, there are plenty of Vietnamese restaurants around.
Their website should be up soon so you can have it delivered to your home! Thanks Alex and James.
ZAC,
Check the Beerlao website - http://www.beer-lao.com/age.php
Click on the "Distributions" tab and it will have a number of US distributors listed. God luck.

For anyone interested there's a specialty wine shop in Lygon St, Melbourne - somewhere near the Nova Cinema that sells it. 15 dollars for 6 330ml bottles.
